I heard this term the a couple weeks ago on a podcast. It was referenced to a daughter trying to follow in her father’s very successful footsteps. She was concerned that she wasn’t doing enough to be like her dad.
Her father kindly stated: “Get off my mountain. Climb your own mountain.” I thought this was quite brilliant. I don’t know about you, but I sometimes try to be like other people. Maybe mimic their hair, clothes, etc. When really, I feel most comfortable in my own skin when I am myself. I buy clothes that suit me, let my hair be what it will be. I focus on walking a path that serves me, and no one else.
Today, I encourage you to find your mountain and climb as high as you possibly can. When the path you are on no longer serves you, find another that makes you happy. Success in our life, personal or business comes from making ourselves happy. Saying no to things that make us feel horrible or give us anxiety.
