Grow with the Flow – Mindset and Mountain Biking
“Grow with Flow.” is a passion project that will focus on women and their positive mindset. For the last twenty years, I have been teaching women to ski, hike, paddle, and mountain bike. The main thing I hear time and time again is, “I can’t do that, or I don’t have the skills to do it.”
About 90% of the time what’s holding them back is their mindset. Negative self-talk creeps in, and I found this to be true working with some of the wealthiest people in the world!! The goal for this one-day workshop will be to remove mental blocks holding women back in their thought patterns which cause self-sabotage. If you are the person who states things like “that is impossible, or I can’t do that,” then think again because this weekend is about changing that mindset. We will add the component of mountain biking as a tool to break through mental barriers.
According to a study done by Women in Adventure, women who participate in outdoor adventure have a high threshold for happiness and describe their anxiety levels as low or very low. Mental wellbeing increases with participation. Spending time in the outdoors not only increases your physical and mental wellbeing but gives you boosts in self-esteem and overall resiliency.
This workshop will pull from a colorful palette of nature, creativity, psychology, mindfulness, and ancient wisdom to curate a safe and fun experiential environment that feels transformative and sustainable. This program is nature-inspired and aims to help you recognize the unique strengths and perspectives that bring out the natural feminine power within us and resist fears that hold us back.
• Obtain tools to prevent negative thinking
• Learn to handle situations that arise around you that negatively affect your energy and
• Learn to release your fears and metaphorically “let go of the brakes”
• Learn how to ground and speak from your core for effective statements
• Develop deeper connections to those around you and to yourself
My passion is to invite people to take time for themselves in leisure and recreation settings. My work as a recreation therapist has shown me time and time again that when someone accomplishes something they never thought they could, they go on to say, “If I can do this, I can do anything!”
